The Competition will begin at 12:30 PM Central Time on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago.
Contestants selected to perform must be present at the venue at 12:00 PM.
Mode of operation during the Competition
- CTU has published the list of contestants.
- Contestants perform in the levels and categories they specified in the registration. Please click on Events->Competition to refer to CTU 2018 Music Competition Announcement for details on Levels and Categories.
- Contestants cannot make any changes to the information they provided during the registration process.
- Contestants must be present at the venue thirty minutes before the start time of the competition. Contestants are requested to register their attendance at the front desk upon arrival at the venue. Contestants will be given ID numbers upon registration.
- Contestants must be present when their ID numbers are called out. If a contestant is not present when their ID number is called out, they would be moved to the end of the list. Their ID number would be called at the end subject to the availability of time at CTU’s discretion.
- There is no pre-determined sequence in which the contestants will be performing. The ID number of the next contestant to be called will be determined on stage using a process that randomizes the order in which they perform.
- Judges have the option to request the contestants to stop at any time during the performance.
- CTU will be enforcing the following time limits. Level Two: 5 minutes, Level Three: 7 minutes. Level Four: 11 minutes.
- Contestants in Level Two and Level Three will be performing solo with no accompaniments.
- Attendees are requested to not engage in any form of communication with the contestants during their performance (including keeping the beat).
- Sruthi box and Talometer are allowed on the stage.
- The performance of the contestant in their respective demo entry is one of the factors considered during the determination of the results at the end of the Live Competition.
- The judges’ decisions are final.
- The Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held towards the end of the violin duet concert by the Maestros Ganesh and Kumaresh.
- Prizes, certificates and plaques will be distributed during this ceremony. Contestants are required to be present at the venue to receive the items.
- Contestants who are not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony may collect their respective items during future CTU events and/or practice sessions.
Contestant Payment Guidelines
Contestants participating in the Live Finals are required to make the following payments:
- Appropriate payment for their attendance on the day of the Competition based upon these payment guidelines.
- Entry Fee of $50 for the Live competition.
Contestants selected to perform in the Live Competition are required to pay a fee of $50 per contestant prior to their performance in the Live Competition. Families of the contestants in the Live Competition are also required to pay applicable attendance charges for the day of the Music Competition.
- This payment is also applicable for accompanying participants in Level 4 (Accompanied). Each accompanying participant must pay their own entry fee for participation in the Live Music Competition.
- Every contestant (including the accompanying participant) pays the entry fee only once for the whole competition.
Special Recognition Contestants
- On the day of the competition, special recognition will be given to some contestants in addition to those already in this list.
