Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam is glad to announce the performance of Kritis Composed by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal, during the 2024 Memorial Day music festival. At CTU’s request, Sangeetha Menon will conduct the training.
Guidelines for participation:
The participants should be able to grasp all the krithis quickly within a short span of time. They should be able to maintain the talam perfectly and adhere to the correct sruthi throughout. They will be performing in G# sruthi.
Absolute commitment is expected from all the participants with respect to learning the krithis, practice and performance. By April all participants should have learned the krithis that will be performed and practice sessions will be held until Memorial Day weekend.

- Mamavasadhajanani, Raga – kaanada, Thalam – Rupakam
- Pannagendrashayana, Raga – Ragamalika, Thalam – Rupakam
- Bhajabhajamanasa, Raga – Sindhubhairavi, Thalam – Adi
Participants must attend the group practice sessions on a regular basis and be open to corrections in order for the group of participants to come out with a well-coordinated, synchronized, high-quality performance. Children and adults of all ages are welcome to register their interest in participating.
