G-Shruti Sessions

CTU G-Shruti Pancharatnam sessions are usually scheduled on the 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday of the month from January through May from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. There may be occasional exceptions to this schedule to accommodate various logistical challenges.

CTU Pancharatnam Participation Guidelines

CTU appreciates the efforts of its well wishers to host these sessions at their residences

Attending families interested in hosting a Pancharatnam session are requested to send an email to ctu.pk {at}chicagotyagarajautsavam {dot}org mentioning 2 or 3 dates from the list below that best works for them.

CTU Pancharatnam Curriculum

Jan

The following Krithis will be practiced in the sequence listed below.  

  • Sri Ganapathini – Raga Saurashtram – Adi Tala
  • Jagadananda Karaka – Raga Naata – Adi Tala
  • Dudukugala – Raga Gaula – Adi Tala
  • Sadhinchene – Raga Arabhi – Adi Tala
  • Kanakana Ruchira – Raga Varali – Adi Tala
  • Endaro Mahanubhavulu – Raga Sri – Adi Tala

Feb and Mar

First, Sri Ganapathini will be practiced.

Next, CTU trained children will practice Sadhinchene, which is the Krithi they are performing for this year’s festival according to the curriculum detailed below 

  • Practice session 1: Pallavi and Anupallavi
  • Practice session 2: Samayaniki, 1st, 2nd and 3rd charanams
  • Practice session 3: Charanams 4, 5 and 6
  • Practice session 4: Charanam 7 and Sadbhaktula

The remaining Krithis will be performed in their logical sequence.

Apr and May

The structure will be the same as that followed for Jan. CTU trained children are expected to be able to perform the Krithi they were trained on in Feb and Mar without referencing the CTU Pancharatnam book.
