Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam is glad to announce a Carnatic music workshop conducted by Sri B.U.Ganesh Prasad where music students will learn basic & advanced compositions of various Composers and general orientation on techniques for developing Raga Alapana & Swara Kalpana on both Vocal and Violin.

Sri B.U.Ganesh Prasad is a violinist known for his tonal purity, aesthetic and fluid presentation had his initial training under G. Nataraj of Bangalore and S. Shankar, a famous vocalist who helped shape his style of playing. Under the tutelage of violin maestro V.V. Subramnyam, he perfected his violin technique and is foremost representative of the VVS bhani.He also learned vocal music from P.S. Narayanaswamy. He has accompanied many of the leading vidwans, in concerts all over the world and is a well received as soloist. He is a recipient of many awards of music and is a graded artist of radio and television.

This workshop will be conducted between 15th July to 25th July 2016 in Naperville, IL.

Workshop Guidelines.

  • Interested Music students who have at least learnt Varnams may sign up.
  • Sessions will be conducted on a one-on-one basis for Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Students.
  • Sessions will last for an hour.
