The special group performances being performed are:
- Bhavayami Raghuramam composed by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal
- Krithis** composed by Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar and
- Krithis** composed by Sri Bhadrachala Ramadasu.
At CTU’s request, these group performances will be respectively conducted by the CTU 2016 Special Group Performance Teachers:
- Bhavayami Raghuramam – Sangeetha Menon
- Dikshitar Krithis – Jayashree Venkatesh
- Bhadrachala Ramadasu Krithis – Rama Gurupalli
** The actual Krithis to be performed will be announced later.

Participation Guidelines
- Participants must be able to sing or play the following with ease:
- Sarali Varisai through Alankaram (3 speeds)
- Geethams and Swara Jathis
- At least 1 Varnam in 2 speeds
- At least 1 Kriti
- Participants must be selected based upon the CTU 2016 Auditioning process (see Step One below).
- Participants must have fully learnt the given Krithi(s) by the Individual Training Deadline.
- Selected participants must attend the Group Practice Sessions on a regular basis and be open to corrections in order for the group of participants to come out with a well-coordinated, synchronized, high-quality performance.
- Children and adults of all ages are welcome to register their interest in participating.
Process
There are three steps that participants go through in order to be trained as a group in a coordinated fashion by the CTU 2016 Memorial Day Music Festival.
Step One – Audition.
- Applicants will be auditioned on the Audition Dates and Times specified and selected to be trained.

CTU 2016 Special Group Performance Teachers will determine participants who will be trained for this performance based on various criteria including the extent to which they can properly render the composition and their regularity in attendance.
Step Two – Individual Training
- Participants can learn the Krithis concerned from the Individual Training Start Date for the given composition by using one of the options listed below:
- Learn it from any one of the CTU 2016 Special Group Performance Teachers
- Learn it from their own teacher
- Upon selection, join the Individual Training Sessions
Step Three – Group Practice Sessions
Group practice sessions for trained participants will be conducted from the Group Practice Start Date after the Individual Training sessions have been completed for the respective composition(s).
The practice schedule will be published later.

Payment
Registration Fee: $10 per participant for each group performance. Note: If a child participates in Bhavayami Raghuramam and Dikshithar Krithis, the Registration Fee to be paid is $10×2 = $20 for that participant.
Participants must pay the registration fee by the end of Jan 2016 before the commencement of the group practice sessions. The Registration Fee is not refundable.
In addition to the Registration Fee, there will be a Participation Fee on the day of the performance. Families of all participants must make applicable payments due for the day of the performance during the CTU 2016 Memorial Day festival (details to be announced later).
