CTU C-Shruti Pancharatnam Practice Sessions

The C-Shruti group has been performing one of the Pancharatna Krithis during the Annual Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam Music Festival for many years now.  This group comes together during the months leading up to the Utsavam and diligently practice the Krithi to be performed that year.  

For the 2020 Festival, Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam is reaching out to invite genuinely interested individuals to join the group for the practice sessions.

First Practice Session: Weekend of 8/9 Feb 2020

At Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam’s request, Sri Shankar Jagadeesaiyer conducts the practice session.

Participation Guidelines  

  • We welcome participation from vocalists, instrumentalists and percussionists. Over the years, the group participants have played violin, flute, saxophone, Mridangam, Ghatam, Khanjira during this unique performance.
  • If you are interested in being a part of a group of sincere, Carnatic music enthusiasts, you are most welcome to join!

As is indicated in the name, the pitch for this performance is ‘C’.
