Program

The Utsava Sampradaya Kritis will be held during the Memorial Day 2009 festival. The exact date and time of this performance will be announced after the complete program schedule has been finalized.

The event will start with select Kritis taught in previous years being rendered in front of the Lord Rama Sannidhi along with the esteemed Nadaswara Vidwans, Subhan Kasim and Subhan Babu.  All children trained by CTU are welcome to join this performance.  The children will lead a procession accompanied by the Nadaswara Vidwans to the Rathi Auditorium where the 2009 Kritis mentioned above will be performed.

Children participating in the performance in Rathi Auditorium require stage passes which may be obtained upon payment of the applicable rates for the day of the Utsava Sampradaya Kritis performance.  Stage passes are not required for the performance in front of the Lord Rama Sannidhi.

Participation Guidelines

Children meeting the following requirements can participate in this performance:

  • They are at least in 2nd grade and not more than 12 years of age during the Memorial Day festival.
  • They have learnt the Kritis being performed this year and can properly render them before the CTU Practice Sessions.
  • They have regularly attended the CTU Practice Sessions
  • Participation in Utsava Sampradaya Kritis does not preclude any child from participating in their own individual/group performances during the Memorial Day festival.

Registration Process (Registration Deadline: 10 Apr 2009)

  • The 2009 Utsava Sampradaya Kritis registration process is different from the process that was in place the previous years which involved sending an e-mail to CTU
  • You will need to follow the 2009 registration process even if you have already sent CTU an e-mail with your child’s details.
  • CTU may not be in a position to accommodate registrations received after the Registration Deadline.
  • CTU will do its best to accommodate all the performing children on stage.  However, there is a limit to the number of children that can be safely accommodated on stage.  Depending on the number of children registering for the Utsava Sampradaya Kritis, CTU may have some of the children be seated off stage
  • The actual seating arrangement for the Utsava Sampradaya Krithis will be determined only after the CTU 2009 Grand Rehearsal
