1. Is there an option to pay for just attending one event on any of the days?
Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam invites everyone to attend all the events on all days of the festival. If you purchase any one of the All Days Attendance Packages, you can attend all the events on all days of the festival. Attendance at all concerts, dances, lectures and skits require the applicable payment for the day of the respective performance.
2. What do I do if I see an incorrect amount in the Total Cost field when making the payment online?
This usually happens when the Additional Contribution field is pre-populated with Auto-Fill settings in your browser. On many occasions, this field has been populated by the phone number. Please clear the value in the Additional Contribution field before clicking on Checkout. This will ensure that the appropriate amount is populated in the Total Cost field.
3. My children are participating in some of the events on Sat and Sun, and due to prior commitments, we are not able to be present the whole day for the festival. So, what would be the most economical participant payment?
The daily rate for an adult provides admission to all the events on that day along with sumptuous food served all day to the attendees. Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam welcomes you and your family members to be part of the whole festival on all days. We understand if you cannot be present all day. The daily rate is the only option available to pay for attending any performance on that day.
Admission is free for dependent children along with accompanying parent(s). Families of participants in all CTU performances held in the Sama Rathi Auditorium must pay the attendance rates applicable for the day on which the performance is held.
The most economical participant payment would be for one accompanying parent to pay the daily rate for a single adult on the day your children are performing.
However, CTU is a family event that brings the community together. While we respect your decision as a family on who attends what performances during the festival, we humbly request you to consider the following:
- Encourage your children by having siblings, parents and grand-parents present in the audience during their performance
- Encourage other children in the community by being present for their performance as well
- Please attend the Procession on Sunday morning — a unique collection of events including Kolattam and saxophones by children and a special Indian folk dance.
- Enjoy the sumptuous meals served along with other members of the community just like we would in a family wedding!
- Consider making any additional contributions when you are making your payments. We rely on the contribution of our supporters to sustain our mission to nurture the South Indian classical arts in upcoming generations of children.
