Group Sessions
Group Sessions (adults or children) include:
- Multiple vocalists
- Multiple instrumentalists playing the same instrument
The following groups can have accompaniments during a Group session:
- Seven or more vocalists
- Four or more instrumentalists playing the same instrument
Note:
- Group Sessions will be scheduled on Saturday.
- The time limit for group sessions will be determined on a case by case basis.
- Teachers cannot sit on stage for group sessions
Individual Performances
Time Limit: 4 minutes
These are performances rendered by an individual adult or child with no accompaniments.
Note:
- There is a limited number of Individual Performances that can be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once this limit is reached, registrations will be wait listed. CTU will do its best to accommodate waitlisted registrations subject to the availability of time. CTU cannot provide any updates on the wait-listed status in advance.
- A participant may render one Krithi or play a solo for one Thalam on the Mridangam as part of an Individual Performance
- Individual Performances are scheduled after Teacher Sessions and Group Sessions.
- Teachers may not sit on stage with the students rendering the Individual Performances
- CTU will enforce the time limit for the Individual Performance
- Individual Performances are planned to be conducted on Saturday. However, depending upon the number of registrants and the available time, some Individual Performances may have to be moved to Sunday and Monday.
- The student’s name will not be listed under the given Teacher’s name in the Program Schedule.
