Mode of operation during the Competition
- CTU has published the list of contestants. On the day of the competition, special recognition will be given to some contestants in addition to those already in this list.
- Contestants perform in the levels and categories they specified in the registration. Please refer to CTU 2012 Music Competition Announcement for details on Levels and Categories.
- Contestants cannot make any changes to the information they provided during the registration process.
- Contestants must be present at the venue thirty minutes before the start time of the competition – at 11:30 PM Central Time. Contestants are requested to register their attendance at the front desk upon arrival at the venue. Contestants will be given ID numbers upon registration.
- Contestants must be present when their ID numbers are called out. If a contestant is not present when their ID number is called out, they would be moved to the end of the list. Their ID number would be called at the end subject to the availability of time at CTU’s discretion.
- There is no pre-determined sequence in which the contestants will be performing. The ID number of the next contestant to be called will be determined on stage using a process that randomizes the order in which they perform.
- Judges have the option to request the contestants to stop at any time during the performance.
- CTU will be enforcing the following time limits. Level Two: 5 minutes, Level Three: 7 minutes.
- Contestants will be performing solo with no accompaniments.
- Attendees are requested to not engage in any form of communication with the contestants during their performance (including keeping the beat).
- Sruthi box and Talometer are allowed on the stage.
- The performance of the contestant in their respective demo entry is one of the factors considered during the determination of the results at the end of the Live Competition.
- The judges’ decisions are final.
- The Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held during the second half of the Kumaresh & Jayanthi on the same day at the same venue. Prizes, certificates and plaques will be distributed during this ceremony. Contestants are required to be present at the venue to receive the items.
- Contestants are exempt from purchasing tickets to attend the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Kumaresh & Jayanthi concert. All adult members of the contestant’s family including parents and grand-parents are required to purchase concert tickets to attend the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
- Contestants who are not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony may collect their respective items during future CTU events and/or practice sessions.
