Utsava Sampradaya Kritis for Seetha Kalyana Mahotsavam

At the request of the HTGC temple, the CTU Utsava Sampradaya Kritis group of children performed several Kritis during the auspicious Seetha Kalyana Utsavam held at the HTGC temple on Saturday, 19th Apr 2008. Rendering masterpieces of Saint Tyagaraja like Ksheera Sagara Vihara, Seetha Kalyaana Vaibhogame and Nagumomu during such an occasion is a unique privilege for these children who have been meticulously trained through the thankless efforts of various teachers as well as CTU coordinators and conductors. The dozen children who showed up at the Seetha Kalyana Utsavam sounded like the 100 children who performed at the Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam festival last year on stage. Seated between the Ramar sannidhi on one side and the Hanuman Sannidhi on the other, their voices in unison resonated in the temple halls.

HTGC acknowledged Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam’s efforts to coordinate this event. Other than the pleasure of singing together for such an auspicious event, the children were also blessed with delicious huge Laddoos specially made for this occasion. Thanks to the wonderful performance by the children, they have earned the privilege of performing again on the occasion of the Sri Sitaramula Brahmotsavam to be held between 17th Sep to 21st Sep 2008 at the HTGC temple.

CTU acknowledges the efforts of the Utsava Sampradaya Kritis team including the conductor, co-ordinator, teachers, volunteers and most importantly the parents of the following children who performed on this occasion: Nitya Pariti, Divya Pariti, Sutikshna Veeravalli, Janani Kalyan, Surabhi Kalyan, Laxmi Siva, Vishnu Siva, Shilpa Satyanathan, Adithi Arunkumar, Deepa Sankaran, Arthi Nadhan, Ashraya Sreedhar and Akshara Sreedhar with accompaniment provided on the Tabla by Rishikesh Iyer.

CTU strongly encourages all the children who have undergone the CTU training on Utsava Sampradaya Kritis to come together as a group to render similar performances upon request in the future.
