Homage to Tyagaraja (Teacher Sessions)

Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam is introducing the concept of themes for Teacher Sessions in the 2009 Memorial Day Music festival.   The theme-based sesssions that will be presented during the Homage to Tyagaraja sessions by various teachers are listed in alphabetical order below:

  • Baala gaanam, a tribute to St. Tyagaraja’s Ramabhakthi with simplicity and humility
  • Nada – The Eternal Music Sound
  • Prahlada Bhakti Vijayam
  • Ram Bhakthi
  • Saptaswaras
  • Sri Rama roopa mahimai
  • The divine bliss of Sapta Swaras – A veritable ornament to God
  • Tyagaraja Nadopaharam – My humble prostrations to the Lord through a garland of songs praising the divine forms of the seven musical notes and the eternal Omkara Nada – the primeval sound.
