Successful Completion of Vocal & Violin Camp

The CTU Vocal and Violin Camp 2007 was held from 11th Mar to 31st May 2007 in Naperville, IL. About 125 hours of one-on-one sessions on vocal, violin and mridangam accompaniment were offered to about 18 children and 4 adults. CTU thanks Sri B.U.Ganesh Prasad for spending this time in Chicagoland and dedicating his time and effort to conduct the camp.   CTU also appreciates the efforts put in by Savitha and Prasod Ramachandran to host the camp at their residence as well as the transportation assistance provided by the families of camp attendees to Sri B.U.Ganesh Prasad.

Quote from Sri B. U. Ganesh Prasad:

First of all, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam & Savitha Ramachandran and family for making this Vocal/Violin camp happen.

I would like to thank all the parents of the camp attendees who took their time off to drop me and pick me up from the airport every weekend.

Most importantly, my humble suggestion to the parents is to make their kids listen to lots of good music (especially, by the old masters) in the form of recordings, CD’s, DVD’s tapes etc. and also take them to live concerts of present day musicians.  Make them practice regularly every day without fail.  Any form of classical art comes only by constant listening, observation and dedicated practice.
