As part of the #CTU2020 virtual programs over multiple weekends this summer, Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam is glad to introduce a unique multi-episode program — Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow – A Multi-Generational View of CTU
Over its 43+ years, CTU has always been about involving members of the CTU family across multiple generations. Please use this unique opportunity to share with the world an 8-12 minute video episode about what that means for you and how CTU has evolved over the years.
Each episode should involve multiple generations of CTU participants from your network of family and friends. Please note that participants need not all be within the same family.
Episodes will be selected based upon the Submission Guidelines below and streamed via the CTU YouTube Channel after the Video Submission Deadline .
Please see Registration Process below to take next steps.

Potential Themes for Episodes
Here are some suggested themes for your videos but but we encourage you to come up with your own original ideas. Just keep in mind the goal of presenting on how CTU generations Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow are meshing together, passing on our traditional skills, arts, and values.
CTU: When The Student Becomes The Teacher
- What? Many music students have grown up through CTU and are imparting the gifts learned in their CTU past to CTU’s future. Show the world how a student from CTU’s yesterday has become a teacher for CTU’s today or tomorrow.
- How? Utilize a combination of videos of prior CTU practice sessions/performances from Yesterday, interviews with prior or current teachers from Today, and and what you visualize Tomorrow’s teaching approaches.
CTU: The Culinary Experience
- What? The CTU Culinary Experience involves more than just eating delicious food. It takes months of planning, days of preparation, trying out different dishes during CTU practice sessions, serving for the masses, and of course the most enjoyable aspect of all — satisfying the palate !!. So show the world what that involves from a multi-generational perspective.
- How? Utilize a combination of video interviews of planners, culinary artists, coffee making team, the serving crew and passionate eaters across generations: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
CTU: The Captivated Audiences Panel
- What? Many ardent supporters have been part of CTU over multiple decades. Collect their thoughts on topics of common interest (e.g. music and dance performances) while also including the views of those who have more recently entered into the CTU scene.
- How? Utilize a moderated video speaking panel to show us whether what appealed Yesterday, is the same as what appeals Today and what might appeal Tomorrow.
Got other ideas?
- Great! Submit your idea below by the Idea Registration Deadline
