The Sahasranama session commences the Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam every year on the Saturday before Memorial Day. These sessions are a service provided by the CTU. There is no fee involved.
Each session has the following format:
- 4 PM – 4:45 PM: Children’s learning session
- 4:45 PM to 5:30 PM: Group chanting
Curriculum
Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam follows a 3-year cycle of 39 sessions as outlined under Education->Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram->Curriculum.
Recognition
Children will be recognized based upon various factors including the following:
- Regularity of attendance
- Ability to chant what has been taught to date during CTU practice sessions
- Submission of recording upon request
Getting involved
Families are encouraged to do the following:
- Register using the form below.
- Attend the practice sessions regularly
- Listen to CTU recorded version by clicking on Education->Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram->Listen to Learn
- Reference the CTU Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram books on an as needed basis. Click on Education->Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram->CTU Book for more details.
- Host Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram sessions at their residence (Send e-mail to ctu {DOT} vss {AT} ChicagoTyagarajaUtsavam.org.
- Actively participate in the Tyagaraja Utsavam
