CTU 2014 Registration Update – Individual & Accompanied Performances

Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam acknowledges everyone who has registered for the Homage to Tyagaraja performances and welcomes one and all to actively participate in the Memorial Day Music festival.  The updates below are for the Individual and Accompanied performances based upon the number of registrations received and various scheduling logistics.

Registration Status

Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam has received an overwhelming number of registrations for the Homage to Tyagaraja Individual performances during the CTU 2014 Music festival.

Please note that new registrations received from 1 May 2014 for Individual Performances and Accompanied Performances will be wait listed. CTU processes registrations on a first come, first served basis and will do our best to accommodate all registrations subject to the availability of time during the festival.

CTU is not in a position to inform in advance if waitlisted registrations can be accommodated because this is dependent on the actual number of attendees during the festival.

Please note that this update does not impact the registrations for Individual Performances and Accompanied Performances received through Apr 30, 2014.

Venue

• All the Accompanied Performances will be held at the Vivekananda Hall (right next to the statue of Swami Vivekananda) at the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago.
• Most of the Individual Performances will also be held at the Vivekananda Hall.  On an exceptional basis, Individual performances by some of the senior citizens may be scheduled upon request at the Sama Rathi Auditorium

Date and Time

• Individual Performances and Accompanied Performances will be held at the Vivekananda Hall on Saturday, 24 May 2014 from 1 PM to 6 PM.  These performances will be interspersed throughout this time period.  An Individual performance followed by an Accompanied performance followed by an Individual Performance etc.
• The specific time at which each performance is scheduled will be announced in the evening on the Friday of the Memorial Day weekend.

Time Limits

• Individual performances – 4 minutes
• Accompanied performances – 7 minutes
