1. What do I have to do to stay informed about the logistical details of various CTU events?
A. Register your contact information and areas of interest with CTU
2. Can I perform a Kriti that is not available in the list of Kritis provided during the registration process?
A. Yes. You can perform any of Saint Tyagaraja’s Krithis. Please enter the Kriti that you would like to perform in the Song Name field followed by its Raagam in the Raagam field and its Thaalam in the Thaalam field.
4. I have registered for the Homage to Tyagaraja performance at the festival. Could you please let me know the time of my performance?
A. Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam strongly encourages all participants to attend all three days of the festival and partake in the musical festivities. The schedule provides the details on the timing for the various events including the Homage to Tyagaraja performances. CTU is not in a position to share any further detail at this time. We look forward to your active participation and involvement throughout the festival. The specific times for the Homage to Tyagaraja performances will be posted in the Rathi Auditorium early morning Saturday, the first day of the three-day festival. We are also planning on publishing this information on our website the previous evening on Friday.

5. I want to register my child for Accompanied Performance and am looking for violinists and mridangists from the Chicago area for accompaniment.
A. Accompanied performances require rehearsals as one complete team in preparation for the performance. This is best done during the weeks leading up to the Utsavam in person in the same location. Please consider forming your own team of violinist and mridangist from your geography and come as one team for the performance. CTU does not provide the names of any accompanying violinists or mridangists. If you still need the names of accompanying artists in the Chicago area, please try contacting the Music Teachers listed on our website.
