Chicago Tyagaraja Utsavam received entries from a total of 85 contestants this year.
The first round of judging was conducted by Neyveli Santhanagopalan after which 37 contestants were selected to perform in the Live Competition on Sunday, 16 Oct 2011.
All the contestants who performed were judged by Neyveli Skandasubramaniam and Mysore Srikanthand were given a CTU Certificate of Performance.
Each winner was awarded a CTU plaque and a CTU Certificate of Merit. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of a CTU well-wisher, the winners were given cash prizes as detailed below:
1st Prize: $250, 2nd Prize: $100 and Third Prize: $50.
Gayathri Venkataraghavan, Mysore Srikanth and Neyveli Skandasubramaniam distributed the prizes and certificates to the contestants.
