On October 4th, we welcome you to join the iO Theater for FAR OUT – An Improvised Music Event, an evening of exploratory and innovative musical collaboration from world renowned Carnatic percussionist Patri Satish Kumar, acclaimed drummer and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Jewell, and improvisational guitar virtuoso Bill MacKay.
Uniting for this one-night-only event, the trio will perform 90 minutes of music ranging from composed traditional pieces to fully improvised musical explorations.
Presented in collaboration with Thawed Out Music Festival, this first installment of the FAR OUT series places these profound musical talents in the home of longform theatrical improvisation for an evening of inspired and soul-stirring music.
During this exciting program, iO Theatre has graciously agreed to allow CTU to present an extension of the Silent Auction with beautiful pieces from Kripa Ramdas, Sesh Ramasharma, and Sudha Giri. We are deeply grateful to Shweta Parthasarathy of the iO Theatre Family Office for this wonderful opportunity. All proceeds from the auction will benefit CTU.
