I received a note from President Sri Seshadri Ramasharma and Chairman Sri E.G. Nadhan, that Dr Keshava Murthy, one of our very core CTU supporter from South Chicago area and ultra core supporter of all the Utsavam program passed away recently and I got this note a few days back when I was lecturing at IIT, Mumbai.
In the last one year I have lost many of my close friends and ardent CTU supporters (Dr Vedam, Dr Janakiraman, Mr. SA Balakrishnan, Dr. Ubaritkamittur Venugopala Krishna, Dr. Mysore Shivaram, Professor Krishna Athreya, my classmate Prof. T. Parthasarathy and now to this list I have to add with grief one more irreparable loss, Dr. Keshava Murthy). I have lost another set of 5 more people dear to me, whom CTU people may not necessarily know, like Prof KR Parthasarathy, Professor CR Rao, and so on.
Dr Keshava Murthy’s wife Mrs. Lakshmi Murthy was one of the devout teachers from the South side of Chicago. In the 1980s and nineties, Dr Keshava Murthy’s family lovingly entertained CTU rehearsals in their house with succulent dinner for all the music lovers. They were always Annadhatas and they never missed CTU programs. They are one among a few key Kannadiga families that have been long term supporters of CTU. Such families are hard to find.
With grief stricken voice,
TES Raghavan
Chairman Emeritus
